Frequently Asked Questions
I know you have questions, so let's talk about them.
Frequently asked questions
What types of files do you accept?
I accept manuscripts submitted exclusively in Microsoft Word format. Files provided in PDF format or that are already typeset cannot be accepted, as PDF files do not allow the use of Track Changes and typeset documents may have their formatting altered during the editing process.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, once the non-refundable deposit has been received, you may remit the remaining balance through scheduled payments over the course of the editing project. This payment arrangement allows flexibility while ensuring the project progresses as agreed, with all payments to be completed by the conclusion of the editing services.
How long is the editing process?
The turnaround time is determined by the scope of work required for your manuscript. For instance, if you select the Supreme (full edit) Package for a 70,000-word manuscript, the estimated timeline is approximately four to five months from start to completion. In comparison, choosing the Superior Package for a manuscript of the same word count typically results in a shorter turnaround of about three months from start to finish.
How do I know which editing service I need?
It depends on where you are in your writing process. If your story needs major structural work, developmental editing is best. If your manuscript is solid but needs polish, line editing or copy editing might be enough. Proofreading is ideal for final checks before publishing.
How much does editing cost?
Pricing depends on the type of editing, word count, and complexity of the manuscript. I offer custom quotes after reviewing your work so you only pay for what you need.
Will editing change my voice?
Absolutely not when you're working with me. My goal is to preserve your unique voice while making your writing clear, polished, and professional.
What kind of editing do you do?
I offer developmental editing, line editing, copyediting, and proofreading—whatever your manuscript needs to shine.
What genres do you specialize in?
I work with both fiction and nonfiction genres across a wide range of subgenres. Whether you’re writing a fiction novel, memoir, business book, self-help guide, or something in between, I provide editing support tailored to your specific project and goals.
